Enhanced seedling production and planted stock performance is vital to the renewal of Canada's forests and Forest Renewal Co-op takes a leading role in the delivery of these services to its participants. The Co-op's research projects create a greater understanding of the factors and processes involved in seedling development and stand establishment. Our research team develops project proposals, facilitates project partnerships, designs and implements research trials and prepares final research reports.

Just as important, we provide a significant venue for technology transfer through workshops, newsletters, a website, literature reviews, research reports, and personal consultations. We work hard to create partnerships among members, non-members, academia and government agencies so that research and development is collaborative, expansive and affordable.

Part of this process involves securing funding from various sources, often difficult and time consuming for members to do on their own. Funding agencies, such as IRAP, OATI and FedNor, and initiatives, including Summer Career Placement, Job Opportunities for Youth, Youth Employment Strategy, NORTOP, JobsOntario, and Rural Job Strategy Fund have been successfully accessed.

Members who participate in research projects may be eligible for tax benefits; we can assist you with this procedure. Forest Renewal Co-op networks with other research institutes, universities and similar organizations to remain current with the latest industry developments.

Any business or organization with a strong commitment to sustainable forest management will benefit from membership in Forest Renewal Co-op.
