Professional Continuing Education Credits

The Thin Green Line has been approved for continuing forestry education credits by the Canadian Institute of Forestry, the Society of American Foresters, and the Ontario Professional Foresters Association.


The Canadian Institute of Forestry National Continuing Forestry Education and Professional Development Recognition Program assists forest practitioners with professional development activities. Individuals who complete 150 contact hours within a three-year period (in three categories as explained in the applicant's Personal Activity Record) receive a certificate of accomplishment and publication of personal recognition in The Forestry Chronicle. The program of The Thin Green Line was reviewed and is approved for professional continuing forestry education credits by the Society of American Foresters. This program meets the SAF’s Continuing Forestry Education guidelines and standards. Attendance is worth a total of 13.5 CFE Contact Hours, Category 1. The Certified Forester® program and many state-level licensing and registration programs require on-going continuing education; the CFE designation ensures that continuing education activities contribute to the advancement of forestry professionals. The Ontario Professional Foresters Association Continuing Education Committee has assessed The Thin Green Line program and has determined that the event would qualify for 51 OPFA CE Credits. These total for Day 1, 18 CE credits; Day 2, 18 CE credits; and Day 3, 15 CE credits.
